Your Perfect Halloween Near Your Castle Apartment

Posted by editor on 10/16/19

Halloween is so much more than a holiday for kids anymore, and nowadays, everywhere you go you can find some adult Halloween fun! Places like Salem, MA are alive with fun this time of year, but Westchester has it’s own spooky town and it’s just 15 minutes from your apartment – Sleepy Hollow!

Made famous my Washington Irving’s tale of the Headless Horseman, Sleepy Hollow is a quaint little river town with cute stores and historical homes, much like the rest of Westchester. However, come Halloween, it turns into a Halloween Haven for all those who love the strange and unusual. Check out our agenda on how to spend the perfect Halloween in nearby Sleepy Hollow.

Start your day with a visit to Lyndhurst, a spooky Gothic mansion any time of the year, but especially during Halloween. Decked with decorations and autumn decor from floor to painted ceilings, Lyndhurst is a stunning sight to see this October, and definitely a place you’ll want to to take some photos.

After Lyndhurst, head over to Horsefeathers’ in nearby Tarrytown for a warm and cozy Halloween meal. This pub and restaurant has been in Tarrytown since 1981, now owned by second generation Tarrytowner who is bringing Horsefeathers’ Halloween celebrations to the next level! Every inch of this restaurant is packed with Halloween oddities and vibes, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to share a selfie with the Headless Horseman or Edgar Allan Poe. The best part of Horsefeathers’ is the food though, and with an extensive American food menu, you’ll be sure to find something for everyone at your table.

After a meal at Horsefeathers’, walk down Main Street in Tarrytown to the Tarrytown Music Hall for one for one of their nighttime Ghost Tours! New to the historical theater this October, for the first time you can now explore the Tarrytown Music Hall at night, and hear about the decades of souls who still call this theater home. You might even catch a special ghost performance while you’re there!
