“Savor Local” at The Castle with Nick Dibona

Posted by editor on 04/17/17

While Port Chester is known for its award-winning restaurants with talented chefs, the Castle is lucky enough to have cooking royalty within our walls. Nick Dibona, a celebrity chef who was recently named champion on Food Network’s Chopped, hosted a “Savor Local” cooking event in our building this week.  Chef DiBona spent the evening with us and gave two amazing demonstrations exclusively for our residents within the beautiful, state-of-the-art lounge and kitchen space in our model apartment.

Nick Dibona and his restaurant, Madison Kitchen, have been dazzling Westchester residents since 2013. Happy diners now travel near and far to taste his food, and Madison Kitchen’s small plates do not disappoint.  Featuring seasonally driven, locally sourced small plates of New American cuisine and game dishes, the menu of this Larchmont eatery is unlike anything else you’ll find within our area.  Some of the menu favorites include pan-seared wild king salmon, a zesty jambalaya, crispy Peking duck tostadas, and flavorful grilled hanger steak. Wine lovers will love Madison Kitchen’s inspired list of Old and New World wines – truly fit for a king.

We hope our residents enjoyed this one of a kind cooking lesson with our awesome neighbor. Chef Dibona is a cooking king in his own right and we appreciate him spending the evening with us! For our resident sweet tooths of The Castle, also make sure to check out his popular home-made ice cream truck,  Bona Bona Ice Cream, another Westchester favorite. It’s a summer must-have in our area. =)
